The EC Certificate of Origin now has an Electronic Version... Faster, More Secure and Effective
UK exporters now can apply online from their PCs connected to the Internet for an EC Certificate of Origin. This service is called 'e-Cert'.

What is e-Cert?
e-Cert was launched in September 2000 as initiative of the British Chambers of Commerce and Global Trade Partner Ltd.
e-Cert is the first Internet Business to Business application using Digital Signatures and enables UK exporters to apply for an EC Certificate of Origin directly from their PCs connected to the Internet.
EC Certificate of Origin cover goods being exported from the UK and are essential for exporting companies to comply with customs requirements in the importing state, as well as meeting banking and other commercial criteria.
e-Cert is good news for exporters looking to maintain a competitive edge in a tough international marketplace.
How to access e-Cert?
An easy 5 step-process will be required to obtain your e-Cert:
- E-mail the Chamber to express your wish to use e-Cert, giving your company details. Click Here
- You will receive a login and password which enable you to access the Chamber's e-Cert web site from your PC and complete your application online.
- Submit your application form to your Chamber by sending an e-mail.
- A member of the Chamber's export documentation team authenticates your email and approves your application.
- Your EC Certificate of Origin, stamped and signed, is now ready to be either posted to you or collected by you.
